unique stern antenna mast mounting

Starboard bolted to the corner radius of the stern rail to support the mast. Great idea. Replaces the legs support system.
I have been looking at as many mast systems as possible before I mount my own system. This looks pretty sweet and easil removed for local racing.

Not as slick as a carbon pole thru the deck and into a socket on the hull. No legs. Not stressing the rail. Simple to remove: pull a pin under the deck and lift. Sturdy: could maybe lift the boat by it.

Yes I watched the video and read the install notes on the carbon through deck system. Liked that set up a lot. In my shopping for a carbon pole with radar and V3 mounts the manufacturers I spoke to discouraged me from using carbon. Since the V3 needs a inverter and 4d battery it's a little late to save weight.

The carbon is not so much for weight as for stiffness. Could use aluminum too. I don't like the attachment to the rail. The constant forces on the rail mounts bugs me. They are not designed for that and leaks there are a problem. Depends what sea conditions you expect.
