Did anyone find a solid answer to this issue? I've a pair of 625C's with the same problem, which can't be blown speakers. Having searched several boards I'm betting Uniden has a physical internal speaker disconnect protection system which is engaged when the GPS/EXTSPKR cable is plugged in. Unfortunately, by making this a combo cable, if you want
GPS NEMA data only we're still disconnecting the internal speaker. I've not yet unplugged this cable, but my assumption it's a permanent disconnect which can only be repaired by opening the case.
Unhappy with the response BNR222 received from Uniden I've posted another ticket. With two radios and four WHAM X units neither replacement or adding external speakers are preferred.

The internal speaker is not working, only the microphone speaker. Search of information suggests that when the GPS/External Speaker connector cable is connected to the radio the act of inserting the
plug disables the internal speaker, even though it's being used for the NEMA data connectors only and not an external speaker. How do I get the internal speaker to function AND utilize the NEMA connections? I don't believe this is a blown speaker as it's common to both my UM625C's. If I unplug the NEMA/EXT SPKR jack from the radio will the internal speaker begin working? How do we return the function of the internal speakers on these units? Thank you for your help.
