Whenever my UM525 is running it wipes out all the
WIFI on my
boat. The base unit supports the Uniden WHAMX4 wireless mics which communicate with the base unit using a channel on the 2.4 gHz band and causes massive
interference when it's on.
As far as I can tell there is no way to turn off the WHAM system in the unit or to assign it a channel so as to have a chance of keeping it away from the router frequency I need to use. I think it may be using channel 6 because it totally blocks all the middle channels but leaves visible routers on channels 1 and 11. I don't have credentials for those routers so I can't say I could communicate with them but at least they show up.
I like the WHAM mics and use them regularly but having to choose between running the
internet or
VHF is a problem. Uniden has been no help with this.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions?
