Although i do agree that at this point replacing the entire autopilot may not be that bad of an idea. Yes, it costs more, but you get an all new setup with better programming and if you have the converter, you can keep the old pieces as a backup.

Sorry, the APX-30 Autopilot has direct connections to SeatalkNG (NMEA2000). The SPX-30 - i70 combination is already tested without the use of that converter you mentioned.
It is a fairly modern AP, just before the Evo.
