Stand-alone Depth Sounder

I am looking for a stand-alone depth sounder and that has a not-too-small display and doesn't cost a ton of money. All I need is basic depth, not bottom contours or fish finding. I looked at Faria and Hawkeye, but those displays are too small. All I could come up with is RayMarine i50 with thru hull transducer (part number E70148).

Does anyone know of a depth sounder that has a display about as big as the i50, but not cost $400+?

Will a thru hull transducer like the one that comes with the i50 work as a "shoot-through" transducer mounted inside the solid fiberglass hull?

Look at NASA MARINE in the UK.

Thanks Franziska. I'll take a look at the NASA instruments.

Re: Stand-alone Depth Sounder

These people show :

https://www.marine-electronics-shop....em-E22044.html

ST40 priced at 330 USD

and here they say :

https://www.force4.co.uk/item/Raymar...Transducer/AJ1

ST50 at 350 USD

I would shop for ST40 from older supplies. They work as advertised and have large bold text easy to read from any distance and angle.

Cheers,
b.
