It seems to me that it is a problem of
corrosion of the
cables or in the
Seatalk connectors.
You can parse these two things:
- There may be a data error due to this problem, but in that case, you would appreciate some more deficiency in the visualization.
- With a multimeter, check the 12v voltage level (red - black of the
Seatalk network), just at the Seatalk output of the AP, and at the farthest point from the pilot, and compare that value when the LEDs are on and off .
If there is any connector with
corrosion / rust, a high resistance is created at that point. When the
current demand is increased by
lighting, the voltage drops from that point on the
network, and the instruments may automatically reduce the
lighting level to compensate.
In this case, the solution is to clean the contact very well, apply WD40, and protect with a little grease to prevent moisture from entering.
