ST60 depth and speed not working after extended storage

When we relaunched our boat after a year on the hard neither the depth or speed instruments seem to work. Speed shows no boat knots which should come from the paddle wheel sensor, but will display SOG from the networked GPS. Depth was showing --- implying no signal from the sensor. After a couple of hours it seemed to work for an hour or so. Now I only get a Last depth reading.

Ideas?

Try pulling off and reinstalling all of the transducer wires on the back of the ST60 first. Make sure power is off.

I know this sounds basic, but is it a removable depth sensor? Maybe just the plug is in.

Does the water temp work?

Re: ST60 depth and speed not working after extended storage

I found that the speed transducer had been bent probably by being under a lifting strap at some point.

I replaced the depth display with a used one and now I get depths displayed but they bear no relation to the true depth and they are squirrelly. I talked to Raymarine and they say it is the wiring to the sounder. Unfortunately on a 30 year old cruising boat the wiring is not immediately accessible. I am considering running new wire and leaving what's there in place but even that will be painful. More after I try this. Any ideas are welcome.

Brought in a trainedRaymarine tech from a local dealer. Established that the transducer was fried. Replaced the transducer and it looks like we are in business.
