Question ST50 Tridata - Depth Values

Hi,

We've got an old ST50 Tridata, and we're not sure how does one measure depth.

Let's say it's 5 meters depth.

Is it

5 meters from the water surface?
5 meters from the tranceiver? (bottom of the hull, but not bottom of the keel)

Thank you

Re: ST50 Tridata - depth values

It is whatever it is set up to display. There is a settings feature accessed by a combination of buttons - need to check the manual - that lets you choose what offset - including no offset - to use in calculating the depth to display.

Re: ST50 Tridata - depth values

The depth is preset to measure from transducer position, in feet.

Per page 27 in the Manual, The offset, keel or waterline, is set using the TRIP or RESET keys.

Negative figure = keel off set
Positive figure = waterline off set
