St4000 to eS78 plotter

Just bought a plotter, eS78. I want to connect my ST4000 autopilot to it. How is this done.
Looking at books, it seems like it would be through the 0183 connection. Is this true ratather than sea talk connection. If so I would then need the power / NEMA / video wire connection to the MFD. the unit only comes with a power cord as standard.

Am I reading things correctly? Thanks for your help.
