ST4000+ Autopilot and Garmin GPSMAP 76Cx

Has anyone had any luck connecting these two devices with the nema0183 interface so one can use the track mode on the autopilot? I have had no luck getting the autopilot to recognize any date from the gps.

I have and i used it for one trip. And never again in 8 years. Its not as nice as it seems. I dont remember having any trouble with it. Set C76 to output NMEA0183 and connect the wires to appropriate location on the back of the autohelm control unit.

I have been able to get it to work after all. It does work in both the normal and autopilot modes in the Advanced NMEA settings on the Garmin 76Cx. The problem was related to getting a common ground on the NMEA input (which is isolated from the power ground pin) and makeing sure that a "goto" or "route" is active.
