SSB Miracle

We've been struggling for over a year now to get our SSB to function properly and finally Joyce contacted the local amateur ham radio club. Two wonderful guys came out yesterday and spent 5 hours going over the whole setup and showing us how to use the radio and finally found a loose wire. We had a great time meeting them and they were incredibly knowledgeable and had all the right testing meters.
Having problems?
Check them out.
Many many thanks, guys.

Smart thinking. Another set of experienced eyes is always a great idea. Hams are the best people...

Re: SSB Miracle

lorenzo, Since Susan received her Ham license several years ago we have rediscovered what a great community it really is. We highly recommend anyone with a Ham license become members of the Waterway Radio and Cruising Club. Our new Icom 802 is sitting in the cabin ready to be installed and we will be back on the air soon. Chuck

Re: SSB Miracle

Check the ARRL web site ( American Radio Relay League | Ham Radio Association and Resources ) and drill down for local radio clubs.

Re: SSB Miracle

For those in the central MD area the Anne Arundel Radio Club will hold an eight-week course leading to obtaining a General Class Amateur Radio (HAM) License, beginning April 24 in the organization's clubhouse at the Davidsonville Family Recreation Center, Queen Anne Bridge and Wayson roads. Course is free but students are responsible for purchasing the General Class License Manual. Testing for the license will be given after the course. Classes are 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays. Information or to register: 410-923-0229 or e-mail n3mb@arrl.net.
