SSB Antenna Ground

Hello,

Im using coppertape with adhersve on one side for the antenna ground.
The sticky side has no cunductivety and when i tape on layer of tape on top of the other there is no connection between them when beeping htem with the multimeter.

will this degrade my RF signal or will i have enogh capacitive conduction if the overlap is long enough.

could this also worck as a DC blocker to get rid of leak current

For pictures and more on my trip and SSB installation check my site Northwest passage on a shoestring

Are you saying that you glueing lengths of this tape together to get your counter poise?? If so, doubt it will work unless you electrically connect each piece. If it's long lengths of the copper stuck onto the hull, deck or whatever, with the adhesive backing, don't think it would be a problem. I used 3' wide copper copper strapping, under the deck, down each side of my boat for a ground plane and it works fine. Didn't splice it just ran about 35' of the strapping from the tuner in the lazerette to the bow. It's not grounded to anything except the tuner.

That's an interesting idea.
