Solution to adapted ST 1000 autopilot longer end tiller pin

I have a long slopping stern (see photo of stern and tiller arm).
I’m reaching out to find out if anyone have a solution for modifying or adapt the Raymaine ST 1000 autopilot arm drive, to overcome the short drive limitation when connecting it? For reference see the attached drawing.
Question? Is there a solution to adapted ST 1000 autopilot end tiller pin from 460 mm to 1100 mm instead?
My boat has a wheel helm the tiller is my emergency tiller in case the quadrant cables break?
Note: this is a setup I would like to create to be used only in light air to instead of my Main Autopilot to save power. Many thanks SV Skoiern IV

Overcoming the inertia (?) of the spinning wheel when using the tiller with the wheel conected would concern me.

Just build a mount 460 mm from the tiller. Note that you will need to protect the ST-1000 from water and sun if you want it to last more than a few days.

Re: Solution to adapted ST 1000 autopilot longer end tiller pin

You adapt by moving the pivot pin for the arm AND THE ARM (the pivot pin hole is often placed on the coaming or otherwise side of the cockpit).

If you fit the drive (the actuator) so that the distance is 1100 rather than 460, the arm will not be able to drive the tiller all the way to the designed limits (often set at about 30 degrees of rudder).

ps some boats fit the drive/actuator at 90 degrees and fitted onto an elbow fitting on the tiller, this is sub prime but basically works
