Software For N2K

I have re-installed my Actisense NGT-1 in anticipation of getting Expedition running on my ship's computer.

What software do others have which speak N2K (as opposed to 0183 as the great majority of marine software does, including OpenCPN).

I thought first about Maretron N2Kview, and then got a nosebleed when I saw the price, similar to Expedition. No thanks!

But I would sure love to access the network and be able to calibrate data sources and so forth, from the computer rather than from the MFD's.

Anyone have some experience?

OpenSkipper is one:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/openskipper/

But doesn't seem to allow any kind of control or calibration of instruments.

generally to calibrate things you need the same brand gateway as product.

Ie I currently have a maretron, actisense, and navico usb to n2k gateway.

likly the n2k view requires the maritron gateway. their analyzer software does. which is usefull software for troubleshooting, but not for showing data for using it

Well, that kind of calibration is typically only offset, and no calibration for heel, for gain, or anything like that.

I'm talking about the more sophisticated calibration which an H5000 or Expedition is capable of doing. In this case, the corrected data is output by the computer and you set the computer as the source. Here the brand doesn't matter.
