Simrad TP22 or Raymarine ST2000?

Eons ago there was the Tillermaster, but now it is finally time I look into a new AP and I confess I am out of the loop on them because my distances are short enough I just hand steer or tie off the tiller or whatever. Now I am thinking of joining the 20th century so which of those two would you all endorse?

hmmm, things are pretty quiet... so I am guessing Simrad is the preferred choice?

I have the SIMRAD AP22 and I am pleased with it’s performance. Working to get it to interface with NMEA 2000 by using Actisense NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 Boat Data Gateway / Converter NGW-1-ISO.

Re: Simrad TP22 or Raymarine ST2000?

I had the ray marine. It work well enough. I had some problems getting not to dither to much but it was learning how to set it up. I never hooked it to my network. From my research the ray marine was more durable. They do like power.
