Simrad AP22 with RC42N

I have the older Simrad AP22 autopilot which works well. I finally have come to the conclusion that if I want MARPA with the Navico 4G radar I will have to add the RC42N rate compass. I tried getting by with the GS25 GPS/Compass but it is not good enough for the 4G radar.

Since the RC42N has both N2K and 0183 output.... I was wondering if anyone has replaced their RC35 or similar units with the RC42N? Results? I am not worried about it working with the 4G just the AP22. I could leave the RC35 in place but it would be cleaner if I only had one unit mounted.

I have Simrad ap25/26 with robnet connected rc36 and ac20 and was very satisfied with ap.
But when I was replace plotter and radar with zeus touch and 4G I have to upgrade rate compass too.
Added z100 was not enough for marpa and internal gps antenna was unacurate (maybe instalation in SS box) so I have to add z100 and rc42. Yes I connected it over 0183 to ac20, and I have I plan to connect it in parallel over nmea2000 to function independent from ap.
So far results are very good.
