Simrad AP 20 LCD Control Unit blurr

Hi to the specialists,

we are seeking advice for our Simrad AP20 LCD which went blind/ blurr within the last year although it was kind of protected with a plastic lid when not in use.
We changed it to our spare one which also started out to get some blueish spots and blurred later on.
The Autopilot (Robertson) itself is working fine and we are useing presently our remote (back up) control unit which works without problems.
Does anybody know about repair possibilities regarding these old LCD's from Simrad, or had similar problems which he could solve in a reasonable way?

I hope there's an answer posted because I have precisely the same problem. I'm also using my AP22 as the backup controller, but all the screw bosses cracked so it's held together with cable ties. Not altogether a perfect solution. Even if you can find used AP20s, they're usually expensive enough that it makes replacement of the whole system look good.
