Ship to Shore -- Old Film about Marine Radio

This link was posted on my favorite UK sailing forum:

https://bt.kuluvalley.com/view/dFrkWeoskh5

Delightful description of how it worked in the old days, and much is relevant today.

Thanks DH, love all of it but especially the consoles, the headphones and the suits

Great stuff. Thanks for posting the link.

When a radio operator is shown transcribing a morse code message, the code heard in the audio matches what the guy is writing down. That never happens in movies.

And, if you're looking for videos that are a bit dated, but also relevant today....here is a GMDSS explanation video (from 1992), with a few "errors", but is still a great explanation....and not only still relevant, but contains important info that all mariners should know!

Have a look.

Fair winds...
