Security - On Deck Movement Sensors

Do you have any on deck movement sensors to wake you whilst you are sleeping if someone boards?

Anything that is reliable / doesn't false alarm?

I thought laser would be the go. Doesn't seem to exist (single permiter beam w/ mirrors / prism)

We use underdeck mounted strain gauges for our alarm. Very few if any false alarms.

I'm using the Seadog motion sensor to control floodlights. It will false alarm occasionally. I have it set up on a ball-joint mount to get it aimed correctly to cover my deck. See the attached schematic.

Joshua Slocum had a good alarm system while in the Straights of Magellan.

Hmmm. I hear movement. Birds wake me right up. Any odd sounds in the water wakes me right up. Any boats nearby or a tap of something touching the hull wakes me right up.

I guess these devices help you get better sleep than I do, so they make sense
