As others have stated, your C series Plotter if working correctly will power the SeaTalkNG® network, so the first test is since that is still active, to ensure this is powering the network. [See C Series Connection.jpg]
To test if the SeaTalkNG® network has power, where one of your (Black / White) spur cable is connected to your 5 way SeaTalkNG® block, measure the voltage on the other non connected end female socket as shown, with a multi meter. You should read your
battery / instrumentation breaker voltage.
NMEA normally requires 12Vdc with a maximum variation of +/- 1.5 Volts
[See SeaTalkNG Spur Power.jpg]
You may need to use small bare wires twisted onto your multimeter probes and poke them into the female sockets to obtain voltage readings, as a typical multimeter probe is too fat.
If there is no power there, then you will need to trace back - checking the connections at the 5 way block, and then the SeaTalkNG® backbone
cables (Black/Blue).
If required, disconnect each connector, spray
Electrical Contact cleaner on sockets and plugs. (NOT WD40) and let dry before reconnection. Also any spare sockets such as shown on your 5 way block should have the black SeaTalkNG® blanking plugs installed to reduce
corrosion.
