Satellite Internet: How Much Do You Spend ?

I will be cruising the Bahamas this summer and will be in remote areas approximately 50% of the time. I do not have an SSB so I want to rent a satellite phone to download weather data and have access to web access for maybe 10-20 pages a day (mostly data pages, not CNN, etc.)

Do you have a recommended phone/software setup?
How much would you spend per month for MY type of usage?

what i saw wasant bad... about the same price for satelite as for regular cell phone... cept no plan...

i.e. you can buy the fone for about $500 and then about $20 a month for regular plans, and of course you can pay more for more time/data use...


but, i plan on tethering my cell phone and see how far out i can still get connection...
