RL70C screen problem

Okay. Time for the way-back machine. I have an RL70C at my helm and an RC530 below. Today when turning on the RL70C the screen is mostly white with some horizontal black bars. I tried several times. The 530 can still control the radar of the RL70 is online so likely this is “just” a screen issue. I have another RL70C I bought on eBay for just this scenario but before I swap them out are there any things I should try first? I previously tried a simple plug in test of the spare. My only hesitation is my lack of confidence in the spare’s firmware version or some other compatibility issue that I didn’t encounter on my quick test a few years ago.

I have an RL70CRC as well. Mine started having screen problems and I did just what you have done and bought a used one on Ebay. I swapped them out and the one I bought had newer firmware and features, so I was a happy camper. I still have the old one that I figure I can use for spare parts. Anyway, not much help for your current situation, but just to let you know that doing what you are planning worked out well for me.
