Retasking a st4000+ to a st5000

I’m given to understand I can access dealer mode and access an undocumented feature that lets a st4000 convert to a st5000, as I’m changing from a wheel pilot to a below decks unit

Is this assumption correct ?

Re: Retasking a st4000+ to a st5000

Yep, should work.

It's actually how you reset the computer if you need to. The programs for the various models are all stored in a memory device and if the program the computer is using gets corrupted (a nearby lightning strike did mine) you go into dealer setup and tell the computer to use a different model. When you go out of dealer setup the computer over writes the corrupted program with the requested model. The you go back into dealer setup and tell it to go back to the original model and it will load it when you go back out of dealer setup.

Handy to know if the autopilot starts acting weird.
