They do allow the flexible bit; it's actually required on gimbaled stoves.
Yeah. It defies logic a bit though. They dont want connecting fittings inside the boat, which would normally be stationary/not stressed. But a connceting fitting inside the boat that is dynamic and moves a lot is acceptable!
But then all of ABYC is voluntary anyway .
