Re: Real vision sonar

I have not done so, but looked into it. The info I found said it would not work due to high frequency range used for RealVision/Down/side - it doesn't penetrate well and results are not good.

I'm running a basic High CHIRP sonar with Axiom - seems to work ok

I believe you are correct if you mean looking through the glass hull material. Is this also true if a through hull fitting is installed and the sensor/transponder is in the water stream? I’m not sure I fully understand the OP’s question.

Re: Real vision sonar

Thanks for that, I have installed a downvision sonar( simrad) and it worked well but I have blown it. Had it on the same power network as starter and it spiked it 😞. Got the Axiom+ with realvision and trying to install without having to drill the hull

Re: Real vision sonar

The consensus on similar queries posted is that the transducer will overheat if not in the water anyhow.
