Re(Programming) MMSI of SIMRAD RS35 Need Help!

Hello Community!

I just bought Toodaloo our first sailboat in Florida.
It has a pretty new SIMRAD RS35 onboard.
I reflagged the boat to Germany now and received my German MMSI.
As the old owner put his MMSI already I wonder how can I reset it.

Can you please guide me how I can access the dealer/service mode or which PINs inside the VHF I need to change/wire/shortcut?

All the best and fair winds!

I have one and I think you have to take it to a simrad dealer unfortunately.

Re: Re(Programming) MMSI of SIMRAD RS35 Need Help!

Thank you for your answer. That will take too long for us I expect.
We are planning to leave for the Caribbean already next week. We where outfitting the boat now for three weeks after the purchase and I just received my German MMSI I didnt think it could be a problem... It can't be complicated its a little Eprom where the MMSI is stored. Just need to find a way to reset it... Usually it combination of buttons will do the job. Just need to find the right combination.

Possible but if there is. It's not public knowledge. This goes for most radios. Not just this model. If you need one right away. You may need to buy a new radio.

Re: Re(Programming) MMSI of SIMRAD RS35 Need Help!

This thread lists the following as working for a B&G V50, same radio as the RS35: http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...si-194032.html

Factory reset:

press X and scan

code 7100

and follow instructions

Check also that your software version is 2.91, free updates are available on Simrad's site.

Re: Re(Programming) MMSI of SIMRAD RS35 Need Help!

Navico VHF MMSI reset procedure

1) Turn radio off

2) Simultaneously press X (or Exit) and Scan buttons and hold

3) Turn radio on, release both keys

4) Enter code 7100

Follow instructions for desired change.

Should work with:
Lowrance LVR 880/Link8
Simrad RS35
B&G V50

I can confirm that this works on Lowrance LVR 880 VHF

Re: Re(Programming) MMSI of SIMRAD RS35 Need Help!

I realize that this thread is a few years old, but I'm desperate. I stupidly forgot to enter in the MMSI on a Simrad RS40(the next gen after RS35) when installing my new unit. Of course there is no option on how to enter it now that I can see in the manual or radio menu. I'm able to get to the password screen similar to the RS35 but the password 7100 doesn't work on the RS40. I'm hoping that someone can help on here, because multiple calls to Simrad's tech support line have just been spent on hold for hours with no answer. I can't even find out a dealer that could do this if I wanted to. Thanks in advance...

I could have sworn I responded to this earlier today. Page 23 of the manual. Long press on MENU key, select DSC SETUP, select USER MMSI, select '>.' That should bring up the screen for initial MMSI programming.
