Raymarine water temp

Our boat has original 1998 Raymarine st60+ instruments. Last year, we are pretty sure the water temperature worked properly. This spring, we are seeing temperatures that are easily 10° higher than what we think the water temperature is. The temperature sensor is integral to the speed sensor and the speed sensor is installed and providing excellent speed data. Well the temperature is not correct, it does fluctuate indicating that it is at least responding to some stimulus.

Anybody have any thoughts on what might have happened or what we can do to correct it?
