Raymarine st60 missing wiring harness
Hi all
I seem to be missing some wiring harness or an adapter for my windvane display. I have a cable coming down from the mast in my gemini 105m and it shows up with a 5 pin male connector behind the panel but the st60 has a 5 individual pin port. Does anyone know if there is a female adapter that fits in to the 5 pin male round connector and gives out a pigtail or an actual connector to go to the st60? I will include the link to the image and the connector coming from the mast looks like the one in the top of the image and the st60 windvane connection looks like the bottom of the image
Thanks

Re: Raymarine st60 missing wiring harness
No round connector that I’m aware of, but others may be more knowledgeable. I have the st60 series on board as well. Just cut the connector and then put on the small pink female spade connectors…and plug into the back of the instrument.

Re: Raymarine st60 missing wiring harness
As marcjsmith said. The wires are very fine so select good quality connectors, audio shops sometimes stock gold plated ones with integrated heat shrink that helps the support the joint.

Thanks both Tupaia and MarkJSmith. I will look for those Spade connectors.

Re: Raymarine st60 missing wiring harness
Are you sure that you have a Raymarine wind anemometer at the top of the mast? the OEM raymarine wiring harness for the wind instrument (for the ST60 series) does NOT come wired with a connector on the end, the wire is just raw cut end. Is it possible the wire coming down from the mast is a NMEA2K connector?

Re: Raymarine st60 missing wiring harness
you can probably find them cheaper Airmar refers to them FISO connectors. if you have a nice electronics store 1/8" female spade connector.

Hi pcmm
I will be in the boat tomorrow and will take some pictures. The anemometer wire comes down the mast and ends with 5 wires loose ends. From there, a different wire gets connected to them and runs to the panel. The connector is on the wire that goes from mast base to the panel

Re: Raymarine st60 missing wiring harness
The Airmar Connector Guide ➥ https://www.airmar.com/Customer-Support/Connector-Guide
Shows the Raymarine ST-60 comes with pink female spade "FISO" connectors, as Marc notes.
The Raymarine ST-50 comes with a #2 [male] connector.
FISO [ST-60]
#2 [ST-50]

Re: Raymarine st60 missing wiring harness
mine was the same. I installed a bus bar under the mast inside the cabin. so I could use a gland fitting. cut the wire an then ran the wires from there to the back side of the instrument.
from the back of the instruments I then went sea talk to the AP computer
if you had a 2 plug wire like gord shows you could gone with a simple thru deck plug.

Re: Raymarine st60 missing wiring harness
Now I'm even more puzzled! This boat is new to me. I saw a two prong male connector, a cable with 4 Spade connectors and a round connector with 5 pins. I meant to go to the boat today but will go tomorrow and take some pictures. I might try a continuity test and see which one is coming from the mast to the back of the panel as it is route way under the trim and other stuff
Thanks

Raymarine also publish a guide to the voltages you should see across each of the terminals on the ST60 wind sender. Helps a little with trouble shooting.
I’m betting the spade connector wire is the wind sensor.

Raymarine Masthead Wind Transducer Test [ST50/ST60]
Quote:
“... Red to shield should read 8V DC steady...
... Blue to Shield should read anywhere between 2V and 5.8V DC...
... Blue and green are a sine-cosine wind angle pair, where the voltage on each will smoothly change within this range, as the windvane rotates...
... Yellow to shield should read between 0V and 5V DC (the exact voltage depends on the instrument...
... Should any of the above tests yield a constant 0V reading, then it would be recommended that the wind transducer cable be tested for continuity and shorts...”
