Raymarine P70 autopilot head install

In the midst of installing a new EV200 autohelm for my Allied Seawind. After receiving all the appropriate boxes of parts, it became apparent that the control head-a sleek looking P70- is only capable of being mounted on a flat surface instead of a free standing mount on the binnacle. I have researched the Raymarine site and have not found any back shell available that would allow this thing to be placed where I can use it. Does anyone know of other options for mounting a P70 on the binnacle?

One of those pod things made for instruments that connect to a binnacle? Make a small fiberglass backshell yourself? Maybe a double-gang electrical box will fit? A flat mounting board across the binnacle top?

One of these Navpods would do the trick, they are not cheap though.

Tally Ho on the RMX4100 made by NavPod. You are not kidding about price! I'll keep a lookout for other manufacturers, but at the present, that product seems to solve my problem.

you could use a PVC 6x6x4 plastic junction box like the one below

Looks like Edson "vision" series also would work at a modest savings. Appreciate all your ideas-even the junction box solution has its merits!
