Raymarine itc-5

Hi
I have a B&G network wind that has a faulty head unit. The masthead & cable is still working okay. My issue is with upgrading to a new unit is having to run a new mast cable. I am considering a B&G wireless. Is the Raymarine itc-5 analogue to nmea 2000 converter able to do other analogue instruments?

Re: Raymarine itc-5

I have one of those so I could use my existing (and installed) ST50-era transducers with a much newer MFD layout. The itc-5 only converts the analog xducer inputs to RM's SeaTalk/ng bus, not normal NMEA2k as far as I can tell from the installation manual. Now, there's another little RM gizmo that converts SeaTalk/ng to NMEA2k but I I have no personal experience with it. It very well might work though, probably run about the same as the price of an itc-5 to get all the extra cables and stuff together.

Re: Raymarine itc-5

The itc-5 can convert wind, depth, speed, and compass to the STNG network. It will display on other NMEA2000 displays, but you need to buy a Raymarine i70 display to setup and calibrate. I have mine displaying on a B&G Triton display, as well as my Raymarine MFDs. There may be some NMEA2000 sentences that won't translate, but I haven't had any issues.
