Raymarine I50 and Fishfinder

Happy New Year Everyone!

I am hauling 33' sailboat to install new transducer for my existing mounted Raymarine I50 depth instrument and would like to install fishfinder that works off same transducer.

I suspect fishfinder transducer would be required and am wondering if I can connect fishfinder to I50 depth using SeaTalk or NMEA?

I am looking at fishfinder only and combined fishfinder chartplotter options.

I am wondering if anybody has done something similar.

We fish casually while cruising and a friend bought me a downrigger so I would like to get fishfinder setup.

I have also posted to Raymarine forum but wondering if I will be restricted to Raymarine fishfinder.

Any suggestions or advice would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

Andy
