Hi sailors .I need to learn how to upgrade my old C80 and E80 raymarine plotters with new software in order to could use CF navionics gold card .Somebody has experience in this ? .thanks

This is the link to the latest software upgrade. You will need to first load it on a Compact Flash/mSD and then insert it into your MFD.

Thanks Windrush ,I found the links as you mention .It has the necessary steps with some grey areas for me ,and non digital expert .The first one is both old charplotters use CF card type and the first problem is how to read and write this card from a PC . Some note suggested use a video camera instead a CF reader device which is highly expensive .Any suggestion on the phisical way to do ? .Thanks my friend

You can get USB CF reader/writers for £4.49 on amazon uk. That would be a bit cheaper than a video camera :-)

I thought the last update for a C80 was 5.16 which came out probably 5 years ago.

The other thing I was going to suggest is use a genuine CF card, not a cheap imatation as the C80 doesn't like them plus I think it needs to be less than 512mb from memory. Ours is 128mb which worked fine for the 5.16 update.

I have stopped doing any further updates, whilst there is lots of additonal functionality these chart plotters are now quite old and the design and spec dates from the early 2000s. You wouldn't put Windows 10 on 17 year od PC so I don't want to overload the C80 with stuff I am not going to use and risk the whole operating system grinding to a halt.
