Raymarine Axiom 12 issues

I have just updated the software of my Raymarine Axiom 12 to the latest version.

Now my chartplotter doesn't display anymore the Heading vector.

Also, I have an external GPS (RS150) that I installed because the internal one has issues (which apparently were addressed in the latest software release).

After the updated, apparently the settings have changed and the system reverted to the internal GPS (which has still issues btw).

So far I've been very dissatisfied with Raymarine. I don't know how competitors are though.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue and have the Heading vector magically reappear on the chart plotter?

Also, how can I make sure my RS150 is used, instead of the faulty internal one?

I have just gone through the settings again, the update changed some of them. I adjusted accordingly, and now I can display the Heading vector correctly.

My Axiom 12's internal GPS has worked well since it was new a year ago, through 3 SW updates. The heading vector is a setting, but off the top I don't recall where to find it. The Ray support bulletin board is very helpful.

To turn the heading line on/off tap the logo of the boat icon (or tap and hold, can’t remember). That opens other settings as well. Took me a while to find it. Was used to the old C series menu hell.

OK, the comment about tapping on the screen brought back an embarrassing situation with my daughter about 6 years ago. I had just installed a new B&G chartplotter on my Alerion, and I couldn't make the device do some pretty ordinary things (like pan the chart to another location, or store a random point on the chart). I was really perplexed because the UI only had a few buttons and a rotary knob, and it just wouldn't do what I wanted.

Finally my daughter asked why I didn't just touch the screen and move the cursor or the chart.

She had grown up with touchscreens, and it was obvious to her. I think she was 12 at the time. I had grown up with Loran-A by comparison...
