Raymarine Auto Pilot not releasing in Standby

I have a Raymarine hydraulic linear drive, E12207 Type 2 coupled to a p70 controller and SPX-30 SmartPilot computer. The unit works fine in autopilot mode but the wheel cannot be turned in Standby mode. I suspect the problem is with the solenoid on the bypass valve / clutch. Is there any special concerns or issues in removing the clutch unit. I am in Bocas del Toro, Panama and do not want to damage any parts on removal.

you're guess is right, is the bypass valve, the problem is that once you remove it the oil will go out and you'll have to bleed the whole circuit... is not a difficult job but if the valve is stucked you'll have to replace it...
