Raymarine 3D Real Vision on Yacht

Hello,

I am looking at putting Raymarine 3D Real Vision on a Hood 38 and would like to know if anyone else has put this transducer on a yacht?

The transducer (which is oval) I think needs to be installed parallel with the waterline.

There seems to be two options:

1. Buy the twin transducers ($$$$) and mount one either side of the keel

2. Buy a single transducer and with a fairing block mount it on the center line of the hull forward of the keel (See pic)

Option #2 will ruin the nice lines of the hull :-(

Pictures of the actual hull here:

I was going to ask on the Raymarine Forums about this but for some silly reason they block people who are not from North America!!!

Cheers

Al
