Re: ray marine up grade

Don't know what "Tiara" is, but those raymarine displays are getting quite old now, at least 15 years, maybe up to 20?
Check if it still works OK. If it does, no hurry to replace.
If it is not working and the display is faulty, the issue is that other still older equipment connected to the old unit, is compatible with the new one.
Easiest, but not most economical, would be to do a complete upgrade. You might find that the older transducers (depth and wind) might still work with the new gear.

Tiara is a powerboat manufacturer. Hank is right though. If it works, it works , if not upgrading raymarine is pretty easy. The Axiom stuff they use now is a pretty straightforward change if you need to.

Re: ray marine up grade

I bought a boat and the Raymarine E 120 display worked great. 20 days later the display light failed so that you can't see anything. I agree on changing but it gets expensive. The radar and the axiom are digital but the E120 is analogue. I need to get a converter that allows me to continue to use the AP.

Wait 'til you get the boat, use it for a while... decide eventually.

If you decide to update, you may also decide to add or change other stuff at the same time... so some experience first will help inform your path forward.

FWIW, most anyone's MFDs will work with a Ray autopilot, if that's what you've got.
