Radar install and my mast

I am going to use a Seaview SM-18-R Mast Mount for Radar Dome for my Garmin HD radar install. I also will be installing on the bottom of the mount a CCTV HD camera. I plan additionally to install an omnidirectional 15db Internet antenna.

I would ideally like to put all three on the mast but I am OPEN TO SUGGESTION.

My question is what's inside the Tall Rig mast on my Catalina 36 (1984)? Is there a separate conduit for cables? Do I need to drop the mast to do this? Never had to do this and I am NEW at is so ANY advice and assistance would be GREATLY appreciated.

Re: Radar install and my mast

I'll answer part of your question. There are probably 2 conduits. One goes to the masthead and one to the lower spreaders. You may be able to see the conduits by looking through the halyard exits. Sometimes the conduits are held in place by rivets, so if you find some rivets with no apparent use, they may be holding the conduits in place.

This may be easier to ask the Catalina owners group. Surely someone there can help.

Finally, if you go to the website of your mast manufacturer you may be able to ask them where the conduits are located on your mast.

Cheers!
