Possible Replacement of B&G wind

My IP-32 came with a 20 yr old B&G "Network" depth & wind. Depth works OK, but masthead transducer was missing from wind system. I can buy (Maybe) a used transducer from that era, or replace with, possibly an ST60 or similar. Can the existing wiring from masthead to helm be used with an ST-60? Also, can I use what is probably and Airmar depth transducer with an ST-60 display? What other more reasonable alternatives are available? Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

If you'd like to keep your current display, LCJ Capteurs offers one that will work with your B&G.

Matt

I have a 'hydra 2000' B&G and above would work, I would do that if my masthead unit breaks. But B&G 'network' seems to use a different bus/network and might not be compatible. Better inquire with LCJ!

Edit: credit to Matt, LCJ seems compatible to: - B&G (Hornet IV, Network, Hercule, Hydra, H1000, H2000, H3000, H5000)

Lightbulb Re: Possible Replacement of B&G wind

If you've got 5 good wires coming down the mast you can use them for your wind.

I recommend getting a Raymarine ITC 5 converter. It will take input from most older instruments and devices -wind, depth, autopilots, etc and convert the signals to NMEA 2000 data.

This allows you to use any of the modern displays, both B&G, Simrad, Garmin and Raymarine to display data. A Raymarine i70 display can be set up to display depth, position, wind angles, speed, etc. and switched around on the fly.

Thanks Duck - with help from the savvy sailors on this forum, I might just get it done right.
