Nobletec GPS Interface ?

My nobletec program will not recognize either of my GPS units. am I missing something with the comm port set-up or do you think it's something else. I am using a Garmin GPS unit and running the program on a X61s thinkpad.'08 model.

Make sure the Garmin is set to communicate via NMEA. The Garmins come from the factory set to a Garmin proprietary format. But if you scan down deep in the menus, you can change it.

That's my first guess.

Second, are you connected serial? USB? USB through a serial emulator? If it's straight USB, older versions of Nobeltec didn't support it.

Third, depending on the version of Nobeltec, if it's not registered or if you have a dongle and it's not connected, the GPS connectivity is what gets disabled.
