Re: NMEA 2000 network instances question

Thank you all for the information about the Simrad RS35 radio issues. I don't have that radio, but the installed Icom M506 VHF had a similar issue that was resolved when I sent it back to Icom for a software update.

Yesterday, I assigned everything on the network individual instances. When I checked the diagnostics page, afterward, there were no network errors noted. I will mention that both the 4G radar and the Icom M506 VHF would not accept an instance assignment and remain a zero. Tomorrow, I am going out to test the autopilot system again.

For anyone familiar with the Zeus 2 MFDs, I have a question. The actual MFD is assigned an instance and then there are 3 or 4 of the MFD functions that have the option to be assigned instances as well. As I have two Zeus MFDs, is it correct to assign each of those functions an instance, and to ensure that the primary Zeus's functional instances always are a lower number the secondary Zeus's functional instances?

Wow, that's clear as mud. If you have a system with more that one Zeus ( calling Dockhead ) you know what I am describing. To everyone else, sorry.
