New to SSB Email Service

I am new to the whole SSB, and SSB/email thing. I just bought a Icom 802 and wish to use it for email. I know I will need a modem of some sort. Anybody know of any easy to understand articles that explain how this system works and rates the equipment needed. Help. Rourke

For e-mail over marine SSB the SCS PTC-IIusb is the way to go. If you have a ham license there is a less expensive option called WINMOR but the infrastructure is still a couple of years from dependable.

This is the definitive guide to setting up radio email, written by the guy who wrote Airmail, the radio email client program. It will answer all your questions.

Although it is biased towards Sailmail, the advice is equally relevant to Winlink, the free for radio HAMS email system.
