New Airmar Ultrasonic Speed Transducer
I had not heard about this:

Wow!!
Is anyone using it?
I have been using the old Airmar CS4500 for six years now. It is a vast improvement over paddlewheel logs, but it has some flaws.
This one is direct N2K (the other one needs two boxes to convert), and does depth besides STW. But what is REALLY intriguing to me is that it measures the DIRECTION of the water flow -- something I have long dreamed about. So it DIRECTLY measures leeway, something which would be terrifically useful when sailing upwind.
It would give you something which we don't even have now -- call it THTW -- True Heading Through the Water. Wow!
I think I'm going to grab one of these.

We must have a turn together . . . . I undress . . . . hurry me out of sight of the land,
Cushion me soft . . . . rock me in billowy drowse,
Dash me with amorous wet . . . . I can repay you."
