i HAVE A 1990
bENETEAU 41s5 WHICH i BOUGHT A YEAR AGO AND HAVE BEEN RESTORING SINCE-EXCEPT FOR 3 MONTHS OFF FOR OPEN HEART SURGERY. (opps). I just added a Standard Matrix 200
vhf with a RAM mic back to the
wheel. It has a ST50
wind that doesnt
work and a old 4x4 ray
GPS which doesnt
work either and a Ray4x4
Depth that does work but the Ray4x4 speedo
transducer is missing but the
plug for that is in. I have also added a Ray 150
wheel pilot but havent sea tuned it yet. I was thinking of getting a
Chartplotter , a
AIS and maybe a
mast mounted
radar. Was looking at the RAY Quantum
RADAR with
wifi combined with a Ray element 9HV MFD with the
transducer included just in case the old
depth finder gives out. Also think I would like to have a
monitor at the nav station as i want the new plotter at the wheel. I dont really like paying for sonar but most of the chart plotters MFD s seem to include it as there are many more
fishing peeps than real old sailors like me. The best nav system Ive ever used was on my prior MT34 Trader that had a
Garmin 3208 both at the
cabin wheel and the flybridge . It also had
Garmin radar. I installed a Standard 2200
radio which showed the other
boats broadcasting on
AIS but didnt show them me. The lower 3208 one had a 19"
monitor that was plugged into it. This monitor also worked as a TV set. Comments please. My
budget is 5 nautical units.
