Navionics Boating app Wifi NMEA 0183 feature?

Hi!

I consider switch boating app from iNavX to Navionics Boating app.
My main concern is about Navionics App support for NMEA 0183 over WiFi.

Can I connect Navionics Boating app to my WiFi NMEA 0183 router - an iMux WiFi router with support for Raymarine?

Cheers,
Jonas

Good question, let me try it. I'm considering doing the same with my iPad.

I have connected Navionics (Android) to my wifi NMEA 0183. Look under "menu" then "paired devices". Navionics will use the GPS data, but it does not send nav data (waypoint, BTW, DTW, etc.) back to my network.

Same her on the ipad. I had to enter the IP-address and port manually and to worked fine. I have my own position, the depth and the AIS-targets in Navionics.

Just download the app and try it out for 14 days for free. That's the best way to check.

Thanks, sounds like iNavX is better, but I will try

OpenCPN, on the other hand, does integrate quite well over wifi.

I have to revisit this one.

True, depth and AIS as shown, but Navionics doesn't pick up the GPS data via NMEA in my case. All the other apps show it correctly. When reading the documentation on the compatibility closely, they never talk about the GPS position and speed over ground, only about AIS targets. Something is definitely not good here. I'll have to ask Navionics what's going on here.
