Navicom RT-650--how to turn off Distress Signal!

We have a Navicom 650 VHF Marine Radio. A couple of months ago, about fifteen seconds after we turn it on, it indicates a distress signal. It is not linked to our GPS so it asks for a location.

The owners manual says to enter Cancel once to shut it off, however that doesn't seem to cancel it!

Any suggestions?

Thanks.
