Navico 8000 autopilot repair

Well, as with everything on my boat, it needs replacing or repairing sooner or later. It's not time for the autopilot.

I've had the hydraulic pump rebuilt as well as the actuator arm. Now I've discovered that the electronic printed circuit board, attached on the far left end of the unit, has numerous bad components. I've already sent it to a company that repairs PCB's and this one is just too far gone. Melted plastic, burned out chips... the works.

I'm looking for anyone that may know where I can get parts for this. If I'm unable to find this part I would have to put in a new drive unit.

Is there a replacement from another manufacturer that anyone knows of?

Have you talked to Navico, or the Simrad dealer. You should be able to find a motor controller that will work with your main AP controller. Try ComNav or AutoNav.

I'm presently traveling right now. When I get home (to the boat) in a week or so I can copy that part of the manual for you and send it your way.
