I have been surprised at how will spinning disks lasted in laptops on my boat, watching movies in 2-3 meter short period swells getting all beat up. Of course I don't suggest a spinning disk in almost any application anymore. But I never had one fail at sea.

I have a PINAS on board 4 x 4 TB Samsung 870's

RPI4 4GB

12v Supply.

Works perfectly, has all movies, TV Show, 150GB Albums etc. Runs Emby server and serves the Amazon Fire TV's on board. Document library, shares for navigation routes, etc. etc. Takes up next to no space and is meager on power consumption.

Thanks everyone for suggestions. I settled on two terra-master f8+. One for mirror.

Although the f8 ins not designed for it, I suspect it is adaptable for rackmount. If not then strapped in place.

Power input is 12v. So it can probably be connected to the 12v bus.
