I haven't.
But because the monitor uses a servo-pendulum which comes back pretty fast when the boat gets on course again, the push-pull function of the autopilot might be too slow.
I guess it would depend on the reaction time and speed of the ram--you wouldn't want it holding the servo over for too long.

Re: Monitor winvane and tiller autopilot
We have a tiller steered boat, so a tiller pilot is fine. The Monitor is separate.
But several people have attached the tiller pilot to the counterweight on the monitor and claim it works.

Scanmar has updated the Pelagic and seems quite nice
I have seen a tiller autopilot set up and seems quite logic, the owner was happy with it.
I set up mine using my old Navico, but never used it,
was wandering if there were owners using it.
We were told by Scanmar not to do this with our Monitor because our prop was too close to Monitor servo-pendulum. Vibrations from the prop would much accelerate wear and tear of bearings and bushings in the Monitor.

quite true
just like to rig it as a back up for the autopilot

Same. So I bought a Pelagic. Still working out the installation...
This is a simple method, see pict.
Make a pole for the AP and a small plywood piece equipped with a coupler for the pilot.
To avoid vibrations from the propeller stream I use to adjust the control ropes so the pendulum is located beside the stream, port or starboard. Since no heeling the inclined pendulum doesn't matter.
