Modifying a Raymarine SPX-SOL smart pilot to drive a Type 1 pump.

Can anyone help with a mod to allow me to update my Autopilot from an Raymarine S1 driving a type 1 reversible pump with a Raymarine SPX-SOL that was designed to operate 2 solenoid valves, both the S1 & X-SOL are rated at 15amp. Could I use the 2 switches/outputs on the X-SOL to operate relays? or even just wire the 2 outlets up to a terminal block with one of the connections reversed? though this sounds a bit crazy & probably blow up or something, as you can tell I'm not good with electrics and need some advice.
The reason for the upgrade is that I want my Raymarine es128 mfd to connect to the autopilot so that I can use its plotter screen to plot courses etc.
