Lumia phone won't launch Opencpn

Help!
I just bought a Lumia 550 Windows 10 phone and can't get it to download Opencpn.
It downloads the file opencpn_4.4.0_setup but nothing else. The file is flagged "Launch File. Something went wrong. Could not launch file."
I tried downloading the same file to my windows 10 laptop and it worked fine.
Anybody know how to fix this problem without queuing at the phone shop?

While OpenCPN is available for Windows 10 for the Intel x86 /AMD x64 architecture, it is not (to my knowledge) available for the ARM architecture which your Lumia 500 uses (a Qualcomm MSM8909 Snapdragon 210 A7 ARM-compatible chip). Unless you download the source code and compile it for Windows 10 on ARM, you're out of luck.

Windows Mobile is different from Windows...
Like iOS and macOS for example.

Not a target platform supported by OCPN - ARM is no issue for OCPN: see Raspberries and others from this crowd.

Microsoft is now promoting a UWP (Universal Windows Platform) for their different range of devices in the W10 context.
Programs labeled "legacy" like OCPN can't be migrated that easily.
There are sand box concepts - the OCPN plug-in structure won't work there for example - and the issue that wxWidgets, the user interface OCPN is using is not ported to the UWP architecture (yet?).

Resuming: no OCPN for a Lumia 550 with W10 mobile.

Thanks for the correction, bcn. I knew it was available for ARM, as I'm getting ready to play with it on a Raspberry Pi 3, so my answer above was incorrect. What I should have said was that it's available for Linux on ARM, but not Windows...

I looked at the Microsoft web page for the Lumia 550, and boy, do they give you the impression that anything available for Windows (the PC version) will run on it!

Speaking for myself, when a Windows tablet netbook can be had for $300, I would have no desire to put OpenCPN on my phone. I have a Lumia 625. I keep a lot of boat electrical and diesel references docs on it, but that's about it.

I had that impression too, which is why I bought the Windows 10 phone to be sure of having OPCN on it - in spite of a vendor advising me that Microsoft will be getting out of the phone business in the next few months!
Anybody want to buy an as-new phone?
